Tuesday May 23rd 2006 - latest  & greatest from Jack White

CD's Im  listening to - the  Saboteurs, Red Hot Chilis Stadium Arcadium, Marianne Faithfull's Broken English and the Kaiser Chiefs, Employment.  Films Ive just seen, 'Thumbsucker' cute indie type film, great cast with good performances, 'Last Days' Gus Van Sant movie....geez, I know its supposed to be arty and  all but man I would have had to have been wasted to watch the entire movie and not fast forward it...whatever Gus!!

  Thursday 30th March 2006 - Brokeback party!

New moon yesterday and forgot to create my new moon  wishes...ooops!  and  boy do I need some miracles.  Weekend before  last I made a quick getaway to NZ to catch up with friends and family.  I ended up having the best 2 nights out with the gay boys, laughed way too much my stomach had pulled muscles?? Ended  up reciting lines from Breakback script and  dancing all night to renditions of Madonna in all shapes and forms. Starting from the formalities of party etiquette to the informal drag queens on K'rd.  Looking forward to the Brokeback Party...hope Patrick keeps his promise.

Thursday 23rd March 2006 - Can't  believe i have been off air for a whole year!! - Well this last year since my last entry has  been very exciting and also very upsetting.  I moved with my partner to the US, to the mecca of fashion, art & pop culture, New York, but to be  struck down with the most upsetting news.  My partner was diagnosed  with cancer so we had to move  back to Australia right away after setting  up in NYC and finding an awesome apartment....(this apartment was HUGE  by NY standards and actually larger than the  one we had at Bondi!!)

So we are back in OZ for a while and will be here  until we get things sorted and  health back to 'normal'.  In the meantime I have been here and there and  everywhere....my most recent jaunt was to Dubai, in the UAE.   See my travel adventures for more on Dubbie Dubai...but in short, glam new city with the  best  lighting ever!!! If  you love hot food, with a Morroccan/ Indian influence, Sheesha and the  best shopping (with exception to NYC of course) go immediately to Dubai.

  Thursday 24th March 2005 - Dita rocks

Friday 18th March 2005 - Velvet Revolver rock! Had the pleasure  & good fortune of getting to see Velvet Revolver recently.  Talk about real rock'n'roll, Scott Weiland was awesome...he's pure sex on stage, magnetic.  I was sceptical of someone replacing Axel but Scott had it all going on and more.

Saturday 5th February 2005 - "In order to be truthful you must embrace your total being" - Rumi

Friday 28th January 2005 - Woa!  where did 2004 go! Ive been so busy lately I cant believe we are already well into 2005. Nevermind...I am back on board now, got loads of work on, been going to a few gigs.   Saw Tenacious D (Jack Black & his side kick), and more recently saw Powderfinger.  Didnt do the BDO thing this year...currently listening to Prince, Musicology, Daft Punk (I know Im way behind ) and MM.  Watched an amazing movie, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind?? the Jim Carey & Kate Winslet movie, well its actually got an unbelievable ensemble cast, including Mark Ruffalo.

Wednesday  15 December 2004 - Gwen Stefani - shes too cute for words...loving her latest CD, Love, Angel, Music, Baby...paying homage to the 80's.  Can't believe this year is almost over...OMG 2005 is just around the corner.  Hard to keep up the momentum for partying, going out and drinking and eating way too much..be glad when the silly season is over.  Latest gig was PJ Harvey, she looked like a glamour queen, dressed in a little red dress, cool shaggy hair do, and killer heels to boot....she ROCKED!!

Tuesday 23 November 2004 - Yay for JT! and Yay for Cherry Hood! - the wonderful JT LeRoy has a new book out in December and Cherry Hood (awesome Sydney based Artist ) has illustrated the book with her beautiful images.  Look out for "Harolds End"  I have just got back from a whirlwind trip of London and Berlin.  If you havent already been to Berlin, get your arse over there pronto! Berlin ROCKS.  You can feel the energy, the youthfulness of this awesome city, East Berlin is where its at!

Tuesday 19  October 2004 - I've got three words to say to you!....Kings of Leon! not fair, I'm in UK while they are there but already SOLD OUT.

Friday 15 October 2004 - TGIF!  after an awesome few days...I'm pooped.  Gotta stop this madness...need to detox...more yoga, more meditation...aahhhhhghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Wednesday 22nd September 2004...F.A.B. - yay for Lady P. Yeah and loving Maz Manson's version of the wonderful Depeche Modes "Personal Jesus"!  Reminiscing ....ahh The Strokes...ah the young Nick Valensi..I was one of the lucky ones that got to see the Strokes when they were relatively unknown here in Australia...well not unknown but I did see them play in a church hall in Newtown!

Tuesday 7th September...hey Spring is here - check out the newest cooolest Bondi website...Bondi girl

Thursday 26th August 2004 - Brides of Destruction Rock!!! Real Rock'n'Roll.
I hadn't been paying attention to the weekly free mag Drum Media (which has whats on gig guide Sydney), fortunately my friend Jane (who has her finger on the pulse) got us tickets to an amazing gig "Brides of Destruction" - Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue), Traci Guns (LA Guns) and two relatively unknowns make up the band. Held at the Gaelic Club, tiny venue, like being at a small pub with an after thought for a stage. VEry cool, very R'n"Roll...closest thing to Motley Crue...wow and Nikki rocks big time.
Wow! awesome to see the real thing. Get yourself along to one of their gigs if you can...real LA rock at its best.

Wednesday 28th July 2004 -  JT LeRoy Rocks!
If you haven't already read the wonderful writing of JT LeRoy, get yourself a copy pronto! of "Sarah" and "The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things".  Its refreshing to pick up a book and find yourself totally immersed in someone elses world...not necessarily somewhere one would normally find themselves.

Thursday 22nd July 2004 -  Carpe Diem (seize the day!)
sometimes you see a movie or read a book that prompts you to re-evaluate your life, even for a brief moment, one such book was "Veronika Decides to Die" - Paul Coehlo and the movie "MY LIFE WITHOUT ME
".  wow!

Friday July 16th 2004 -  blue skies
Bondi is beautiful today, nothing but blue skies!

Tuesday July 6th 2004 -  NY Rocks & back to reality
Back from a whirlwind trip of LA and NY (mostly NY). Had never been there before, so very exciting, yes it is the city that never sleeps and it is awesome.  NY Rocks!!! Spent my days in Soho, Greenwich Village, East Village and Tribeca, familiarising myself with what it would be like to be a local there.  Found the cutest cafe off Bleeker st (I think) that or Thompson st.  They actually made coffee to the standards that we are used to in Sydney. (Which by the way is pretty high standards so very happy to find a local that could make good coffee). Or when I was around near a Dean & Deluca found their coffees to be great also. Spent time on the metro, subway and learning how to orientate myself with their street systems and signs.  Got the hang of it when it was time to come home...oh well next time.  Checked out the Metropolitan Museum, Frick Museum, and Guggenheim...all fabo! worth a look at. The galleries around Soho, Chelsea, and the Village were interesting too.  Central Park rocked, loved the Alice in wonderland statues, the squirrels (which we dont have here, so very novel to us).
OMG the shopping, TDF!!!  the shows, the rock'n'roll, woohoo!  And check out Wicked! Broadway show.  Can't hardly wait to get back there.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh dreamy Pisces I am.

Wednesday June 9th 2004 - Whalesssssssssssssssssss
Whales moved into and passed through Bondi today, very cool.

Tuesday  June 8th 2004 - Clockwork Orange...OMG
Sat and watched this movie for the first time just the other night.  If you have never seen this movie, see it, bizarre, strange, clever, colourful and very much a social comment. Even if it was made back in the early 70's you can see that it has influenced so much of our popular culture since. Love all the artwork in the movie! the sets were out of this world.  Listening to N.E.R.D, very cool that they are.

Monday May 31st 2004 - Coldddddddddddddddddddddd here, warm in NY
I'm going to New York real soon, very very excited.

Monday May 24th 2004 - Sarah Mclachlan is an angel sent from heaven! Sydney State Theatre rocked with the absolute voice of Sarah Mclachlan, What can I say without getting gushy.  Inspiring and otherworldly.  Even when you work from home Mondays still have an energy of their own...I do like Mondays these days however what you see reflected outside is still "I dont like Mondays" syndrome.  Quiet and reclusive is Monday, awaking from a hangover.

Wednesday May 19th 2004 - New MOon!
Managed to injure myself doing yoga asana
Sarvangasana. Oouch!!
If you have any new projects start them now, the new moon is a great time to put new ideas out there.

Tuesday May 18th 2004 - Grey skies, not much happening in North Bondi!  I do have to say it's a nice change when we get some relief from the constant sunshine.  Hopefully our fellow friends in the Northern Hemisphere are getting some sunshine as I'm traveling to US very soon and will spend my first summertime in North hemisphere and what's more I will be spending the Summer Solstice there!!

Tuesday May 11th 2004 - I salute Pan the God! for all the rock stars out there! Pan was the bad boy of Gods!  its funny how one thing leads to another, and everything is inexplicably interlinked..Kate Bush's song - "Running up that hill" - found me today ...cryptic

And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building.
If I only could, oh...

I am officially about to do my first tarot reading!

Moonday May 10th 2004 - I would go out tonight, But I haven't got a stitch to wear
This man said "it's gruesome, That someone so handsome should care"  , Oh, la-la, la-la, la-la, this charming man ...Oh, da-da, da-da, da-da, this charming man ...

Its very cold outside, brrrrrrrrrrrr.... I wish I were a cat. Cats are cool. Cool for cats! History repeats eg. 80's revival and fashions come back into vogue and so Morrissey (this charming man)  is back with a new album and the Pixies are touring again! Speaking of Pixies and otherworldliness, check out some magickal stuff that maybe you might like too, you never know what might be your bag!

Tuesday May 4th 2004 - Full Moon!
Its an amazing full moon tonight...you have to see it to believe how beautiful it is. Scorpio moon. If you can do some moonbathing, supposed to be good luck..something like that.  Found out a few days ago going to New York in a few weeks! Woohoo! I'm very excited and just found out that Maddy is doing a wee concert in Madison Square while I'm there...however tickets have SOLD OUT!!!! She's one of my ultimate idols. I adore her.  Speaking of the Material Girrlllllllllllllllllll, I am having some of my paintings of Madonna published in a book called "Madonna In Art" compiled by Mem Mehmet and published by Chaucer Press UK and due out in UK, USA, Europe & Japan in  August 2004.
