My Journal
Monday
4th August - Pulling my hair out!
Decided
to update my website and revamp it at the same time...well ! (in the tone of
Samantha off Bewitched) it was decidedly painful. My partner in crime
(who is a webmaster (whatever that means)) reluctantly tried to show me how to
update and make changes to my website. MMMmmm ....I now have quite a bit less
hair! All I am thinking of now is when I can sit down and watch my fav
trashy programs. To my dismay Sex and the City
is not back on yet and
have missed the last few eps of Secret Life of Us so will have to settle for
QAF (to those of you who have not been initiated that's Queer As
Folk).
Brian is the meanest dude on tv.
Oh
meant to say went Bowling on the weekend for a girlfriends birthday
bash. It t'was so much fun! Retro 80's music and video screen to boot
while trying to strike out ....I kept on getting distracted by all of
the mullets in my peripheral vision.....
Tuesday
5th August – Awakened giant within....
My stars
say to take more care of myself and that I have awakened the giant within???
Whatever that means. Things that I’m
currently into – Placebo, Coldplay and Jamies Kitchen (which
incidentally is on the goggle box tonight).
Things that
I am grateful for - the fact that I live by the ocean (my refuge) music, my
new studio and new found freedom, Dharma yoga shala, 80’s
music!! Om Shanti.
Friday August
8th 2003 - JT Leroy's rad newish novel
Okay have just
discovered the most amazing character...JT
LeRoy.
I guess I am so out of the loop or so not cool as it has taken me this long to
stumble across his name...well
actually I picked up a mag which had an article
on him and to be honest I was facinated at first that a number of celebs
had found themselves some sort of guru...so I read further and the more I read
the more interested I became in this character. And since they also
compared him with that of JD Salinger I read more. Love Holden Caufield....hes
such a dude and so cynical. Inspiration comes
in all forms of muse..for me now I find myself
looking to see where I am going and how I can be more true to myself and
find more of the anarchist within. PS
hanging out for more Osbourne eps...dont have cable so will have to wait
for it on free tv. Ozzy's band Blacksabath,
check it out...
Monday October
19th 2003 - London Rocks..yeah baby!
I've finally got
some energy to sit down and write what's been happening to me. Have just
got back from UK trip away. London Rocks!! Its groovy yeah..Austin
started it all for me and its been a love affair, well really an affair
with London ever since. The whole scene there is really happening.
The fashion, the music, the art, the atmosphere. Got to see a couple of
awesome exhibitions; Damien Hirst at White Cube at Hoxton Square,
and Bridget Riley at the Tate Gallery
and if you get the chance to go to the V&A (Victoria & Albert Museum)
check out the Ossie Clark
exhibit
I had the good
fortune and pleasure of having time to go to St Martins Art School
for a couple of weeks while I was
there to brush up (no pun intended) on my oil painting techniques. If
you get the chance to go to Kensington Gardens pop into the Serpentine
Gallery. It has currently the most exciting exhibition by an artist called
John Curran.

Last but not least checked out the one and only Agent
Provocateur in Soho, London....ooooohhhh ahhhhh drool.......... love their
work.. ...and gotta love those big
red buses...especially the number 29 from Camden to Trafalgar Square.
Wednesday Oct 22nd 2003 -
Cool for Cats
Love the title to this book, gotta get some new reading material...top of the list is a book review that caught
my eye for the novel "Cool for Cats" by Jessica
Adams. "The Devil Wears Prada" by Lauren Weisberger and the cool novel from
Yasmin Boland -
"All the Rage"
If you are feeling like you might have the inclination or budding talent to become a paperback writer check out this site
chicklit.co.uk...great for tips and do's and dont's of becoming a writer or aspiring writer.
Well Ive been inundated with tasks and illo jobs which is a good thing however it's brilliantly sunny outside my window to the world of Bondi....ahhhhhhhhh roll on summer...and roll on
bondi fm chill out tunes no end...yay for their decency to play the music they wanna play.
Thursday Oct 30th 2003 - Cute and out of control
Ok...a couple of days ago the cutest of the cute charged into my daily chore
of putting out the garbage. Her name is June and she has beautiful golden
eyes, and a sandy coat..She's a gorgeous abyssinian
kitty cat, outta control, energy plus and suffers from an attention span
disorder.

She's a star about to happen, always
looking for attention and wanting to be in the limelight ALL the time. I
am a sucker for stars...Ive already been smitten by her. I'm sure you
will be hearing more stories and adventures of June...until then its back to
my pc for today...ahghhhhh its so gorgeous outside, sunshine and blue
skies. Oh yeah got my new CD Tatoo
You - Rolling
Stones..love ya Mick!!!
Thursday Nov 13th 2003 - ARGhhhhhhhhhhh the noise!!!
Not the best place to be right now...I live in RENOVATION capital!!! Thanks to
tv programs like "The Block" which was filmed etc in Bondi and el
tackorama renovation shows that run rampant on our tvs at present I and others
who live in the area are surrounded by NOISE!! Just love that jackhammer at
7.00am on a Saturday morning. So my nervous are just about shot and I'm
"Omming" my heart out at yoga to no avail. Currently loving any
retro Guns'n'Roses, Aerosmith, Skid Row,
Silverchair (huge fan),and
Foofighters (yeah Dave rocks).
Friday
Nov 21st 2003 - TGIF
I've got one word to say to you all - TGIF!!!!!
Monday
Nov 24th - 2003 - Cabin Fever
It's raining again and I feel like cabin fever is setting in...just chilling
to Bondifm and trying
to get some illustration work done. Hey but the renovation crew haven't been
working for the last few days due to weather...gave my little baby bird a
chance to fledge the nest and make a new life for itself! (don't ask, its been
dramas all round with the nest in the building next door that has been under
renovation).
Lately been listening to Prince and the Revolution....loving reliving the
80's.
Monday
Dec 15th - 2003 - Hot in the City
It's been a while coming but at last summer is here. To date have been
reliving the 80's starting with Duran
Duran. OMG Simon Le Bon rocks, JT rocks! Their concert was up there
with the likes of Janes Addiction and PJ Harvey. I'm sure Janes and PJ
wouldn't really appreciate being put into the same realm but hey what can I
say..."Girls on Film", "Planet Earth", "Careless
Memories" and the house came down to "White Lines". Simons
dance moves on stage...words fail me..."Wild Boys" is etched
in my brain fprever. I'm looking forward to my David
Bowie moments....Feb 2004!
Wednesday
Dec 17th - 2003 - Doris Day dos
Last night attended a
moonlight cinema screening of the wonderful Rock Hudson and Doris Day!
called Pillow Talk. Poor old Doris had some of the most atrocious hairdos on
the planet...and matching outfits...however love this movies one liners and
flowing innuendos...she was such a revolutionary! a real trooper for all the
single women in the 1950's (hysterical)...

Monday Jan 19th - 2004 - Duh...its
2004
I'm into a new year and still haven't got used to the
fact. It's scary how quickly life is whizzing by
but hey I'm managing to fit in a few more things here
and there. I celebrated the new year in with
friends and family and made new friends along the
way. Celebrated down at Rosebay watching the
fireworks and drinking copious amounts of champagne!!!!
Yeah, gotta love the champagne..now I've made some goals
for the new year and hope to accomplish at least half of
them. Missed out on the
Darkness, sold out!!!! tooooooo late! never mind
some place else but can't get those jumpsuits outta my
mind. Got my heart set on getting myself a little
sewing machine and currently doing a course in fashion
on textiles...Santa was fabo to me bringing gifts such
as a guitar (which I need to tune properly and get
lessons), a drum with a tomtom stick??? bizarre!, loads
of cds, ranging from the Echo
and the Bunnymen, to Beastie Boys. Can't help
the 80's thing...loving Grace Jones and wanna get The
Art of Noise.
Friday Jan 30th - 2004 - Alas poor me........ahhhhhhhhhhggghhhh
June.
Poor June has moved away to stay with her mommy & daddy to a new
suburb!!
What more can I say....Im devastated.
Friday 5th March - 2004 - Woohoo! happy
Mardi Gras!
Its almost that time again in Sydney where you can't
move on Bondi Beach for buffed gorgeous mens bodies! Yes
you guessed it, its Mardi Gras! Happy
Mardi Gras. I remember going to my
first Mardi Gras when I first moved to Sydney,
almost 12 years ago now. Being lost in a crowd of very
happy, vibey people is not so bad....my rendezvous party
got sidetracked and so I found myself enjoying Mardi
Gras with very beautiful strangers! And everyone is so
"accommodating". To all of you venturing
out for the first time....go for it, dress up and go
glam!
Thursday 18th March 2004 -
My amazing friend Kim has a new website
www.delarosaltd.com
Tuesday 23 March 2004 -
after the last few days I now realise why I have been feeling the way I am
feeling. It was the end of the zodiac year and start of the new zodiac year!
Explains why I was all over the place.
March 20th saw the new moon in Aries.
"What has been orbiting your life and now wants to be
recognized?" Who am I ?" - check
out for more info on the new zodiac year at mooncircles
Sunday April 11th 2004 -
Easter Bunny didn't visit!
Tuesday May 4th 2004 - Full Moon!
Its an amazing full moon tonight...you have to see
it to believe how beautiful it is. Scorpio moon. If you
can do some moonbathing, supposed to be good
luck..something like that. Found out a few days
ago going to New
York in a few weeks! Woohoo! I'm very excited and
just found out that Maddy
is doing a wee concert in Madison Square while I'm
there...however tickets have SOLD OUT!!!! She's one of
my ultimate idols. I adore her. Speaking of the
Material Girrlllllllllllllllllll, I am having some of my
paintings of Madonna published in a book called
"Madonna In Art"
compiled by Mem Mehmet and published by Chaucer Press UK
and due
out in UK, USA, Europe & Japan in August 2004.
Moonday May 10th 2004 - I would go out tonight, But I haven't got
a stitch to wear
This man said "it's gruesome, That someone so handsome should
care" , Oh, la-la, la-la, la-la, this charming man ...Oh, da-da,
da-da, da-da, this charming man ...
Its very cold outside, brrrrrrrrrrrr.... I wish I
were a cat. Cats are
cool. Cool for cats! History
repeats eg. 80's revival and fashions come back into vogue and so Morrissey
(this charming man) is back with a new album and the
Pixies are touring again! Speaking of Pixies and otherworldliness, check
out some magickal
stuff that maybe you might like too, you never know what might be your bag!
Tuesday May 11th 2004 - I salute
Pan the God! for all the rock stars out there! Pan was the bad boy of
Gods! its funny how one thing leads to another, and everything is
inexplicably interlinked..Kate Bush's song -
"Running up that hill" - found me today
...cryptic
And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building.
If I only could, oh...
I am officially about to do my first tarot reading!
Tuesday May 18th 2004 - Grey skies, not much happening in North
Bondi! I do have to say it's a nice change when we
get some relief from the constant sunshine.
Hopefully our fellow friends in the Northern Hemisphere
are getting some sunshine as I'm traveling to US very
soon and will spend my first summertime in North
hemisphere and what's more I will be spending the Summer
Solstice there!!
Wednesday May 19th 2004 - New MOon!
Managed to injure myself doing yoga asana Sarvangasana.
Oouch!!
If you have any new projects start them now, the new
moon is a great time to put new ideas out there.
